Riding Free Blog: Saddle Up!

Why we share our journey on the gram

April 30, 2021

Mama Stuff

So news flash, my kids are not placing in the top of their events, if at all, in rodeo and we are certainly not running a saddle empire. We don’t have a big, beautiful ranch with thousands of head of cattle like I would love, we have ONE dairy cow. The squares on our feed and the stories you might watch are far from what I imagine our highlight reel to be, so why do we share?

this is why.

We share because we love the western lifestyle and rodeo and too many people are afraid to join because it is SO FREAKING INTIMIDATING. I mean, we pull up in my crappy Ford and a rusted bumper pull and we putter along through huge living quarter trailers and rigs that might cost more than our house. But you know what? Those people worked their butts off for those things. So we will have to as well.

We might not have seen their journey, but if you ask, they’ll probably have stories of blood, sweat, tears and sacrifice. Now, not many people want to see blood or too many tears on the gram, so we try to keep the sad stuff in the captions, but I want you to see the journey because maybe, just maybe, you’ll feel like you can do it too. And I truly believe there is no better lifestyle and that rodeo is the best sport in the whole world. Yes, even over baseball.

So thank you for following along and cheering us on, we hear and appreciate you!
